Indian Patience Card Layout: On the board you'll see a stock pile at the top left with a waste pile just to the right of it. There are 10 tableau piles and eight foundations at the bottom of the board. Three cards are dealt to each pile of the tableau with the bottom card face down and the other two cards face up. To Win the Game: Place all the cards on the foundations on four piles by suit starting with the Aces and placing cards in ascending order (going up in value) ending with Kings. To Play the Game: Top cards in the waste pile and tableau are playable to build onto foundations or other tableau piles. You must build the cards on the tableau in descending order (decreasing in value) and using a different suit each card down. Draw from the stock pile when necessary which will draw unusable cards into the waste pile. When you turn over a face down card, that card becomes a face up protected card, which has certain restrictions: protected cards can only go to the foundations. An empty space previously filled by a protected card will be filled with three cards (two face up and one face down) as long as there is a sufficient number of cards in the stock. Note: You may only use the stock pile one time, so once the stock is played through, the protected cards then automatically become regular cards and are available to play onto the tableau as well as the foundations. |
