About Notes
Share offers a simple collaborative text editor as one of the default plugins. This text editor only features plain text editing but it allows anyone with access to your share to view and make changes to particular files. By default, Share will serve files located at ~/Library/Application Support/Share/Notes/. This can be changed from the Notes panel of the main Share window.
The toolbar at the top of the Notes page offers simple actions. First, there is a "New file" button. This button allows you to make new files to edit and share. When creating a new file, you will be prompted for a new filename. The filename may include a file extension. Although a new page will be created when you press the "OK" button, it will not appear in the files list until you save it. The "New file" button may be activated by pressing CTRL-N.
The save button simply saves the file as you'd expect. The current document is overwritten with the changes made. CTRL-S may be used to activate the save button.
The help button opens this help file.
The files table shows all the files located in the shared folder as well as the size, last modification date, and the last user to have edited the file. Clicking on the row will open that file in the editing field. If the current document has changes, you will be asked whether you want to save those changes before switching documents.
