Comparing Directories
Duplicate Image Detector will allow you to compare one directory to another and show you all the images in the second directory which are match to images in the original directory.
For example if you had a main repository for your images and you wanted to see if you had already imported the images from your camera, then your main repository would be the original directory and the images from your camera would be the second directory.
Click on the compare icon
First Select the directory of your source image files. No changes will be made to these images.
Select the images that you want compared to the source images. These are images that will be deleted, aliased or labeled by Duplicate Image Detector.
Select the Options section to set the matching quality (more details), minimum and maximum sizes and whether to match scaled images. Setting the maximum size to zero will cause Duplicate Image Detector to ignore the maximum size. Selecting the Compare Scaled Images check box will make Duplicate Image Detector check images which are different sizes, this can significantly increase the time that Duplicate Image Detector will take to complete its processing.
As matches are found between the source and comparison directories you will be able to delete, alias and label the files.
